Being brought into this world, Avalyn always thought that she would find her own fictional love, and that it would come walking right through the door. You're probably thinking this idea came from her mom but no, it came from her love of novels. From a young age, Ava has loved reading and it's put these ideas of what love should be like in her head, unreasonable ideas.

Never in a million years would she imagine what would happen to her at that party. Never would she imagine that she would be terrified of everyone and everything and not even think of love, not until years later that is.

When she finally moves to Washington, she meets a dreamy man at the airport...Nathaniel Moore. Although he's kind and charming to her, there's something strange, something...off. When she gets to her new house she meets Joshua Gordon who is the sweet next door neighbor with pretty green eyes. Ava thinks that Washington is her get-away, but what she doesn't know is that it's actually just the beginning.

"It's like, all my life, I've had to protect my heart from being shattered and failed. But with you..it's like I can finally rest, and let you protect it." Ava admits. "I trust you."

"I'll hold your heart and protect it until my dying breath." He murmurs as he leans closer.
