*please I wrote this story at 16/17. I'm 28 and I crying because I would rewrite this in a heartbeat especially coz I sound crazy* so read with caution* I fell in love. I fell in love with a fairytale. Oh Yes I did. You know that one story that gives every little girl hope out there that good things comes to those who wait even in rare but simple gems like a glass slipper. This hope carried me far and beyond. It's a fairytale that is relatable to any prospect of life. There will be your evil stepmother and evil stepsisters, your fairy godmother and your one true prince. It is a fairytale that understands the element of surprise: That what we seek can sometimes appear right in front of us without knocking on our doors. Most especially, it's a fairytale that understand the importance of love: A true prince may not come in shape of perfection but regardless of the imperfections and flaws, he would still remain perfect in your eyes. Regardless of its flaws, Africa was my father and Nigeria was my prince. Africa was my birthplace, born to the greatest warriors on the planet: Shaka Zulu, Nelson Mandela, Cleopatra, Kofi Annan even Didier Drogba the famous footballer. Most especially it was my home. It was the place I learnt to walk, talk, run and now 200000 feet above the ground I look down at my home. Little lights flickering everywhere like fireflies contrasting with the dark night. Maybe one day I will come back to my father. My prince. My Ile.

Although no one knew it, Desire was struggling. It was highly unbelievable because as a top worker in one of Lagos' most exclusive and influential night clubs, she was making close to twenty thousand naira per night. All her other friends were living large, and building houses, so why couldn't she? Her father had died five years ago, leaving them drowning in a sea of debt. Her mother was sick, and couldn't do anything, so from an early age Desire had had to wear the mantle of responsibility. A twenty six million naira debt was on her neck, and for five years, Desire had consistently been paying it off; while simultaneously keeping a roof over her mother's head, and saving up money for school. Salvation came at last; but in form of the hardest, most handsome man she had ever laid eyes upon? General Babalola Halal. He was offering five million Naira for a whole month of exclusive sex. Pure, undiluted gratification. It was her job, and this offer was coming on a platter of gold. Even more tempting was the fact that it was the exact amount needed to be free of her father's debt. Completely. But he was hard, and demanding, and excruciatingly virile. Accepting this posed a risk far greater than millions. The stark reality of losing everything she stood for, and gaining nothing in return because a man like this never gave anything of himself. He was rich, five million Naira meant nothing to him. But she knew what she was getting into, she knew how addictive his touch was, and how hard it was to stay sane around him. Could she do this? Was losing her sanity a price she was willing to pay?

How did we go from... "My life feels empty without you, and I know I'm not perfect, I know you deserve someone better, but I can't see you with anyone else, so I promise you, Dua, I will try to be better, just for you, I would do whatever it takes." His eyes were pleading, while his voice sounded desperate. To "Get lost! You're nothing but a pretty nuisance, you're becoming an eyesore!" He scowled, the love and warmth his eyes used to have for me now looks dreadful. ★★★ Out of all my sins and mistakes, he was my favorite and worst. Everyone on campus told me to avoid Haidar and that he was bad news, but I didn't believe them, how could I have...?! So I shoo them away calling them liars and enemies of our so-called love. A love that got me destroyed, a love that killed the only person who genuinely cared for me, right now, so many evil thoughts crowd my head. With a tear-stained face, I stared at the three most heart-wrenching newsletters in my hands. My hands trembled as I tore one of the letters open, reading its contents, I gasped, imagining his hard gaze and harsh voice. "As usual have an abortion. Don't cross me, I will ruin you with a flick of my finger, I have everything with me." The bastard didn't even spare my reputation, he ended our 5 years relationship cruelly, making me a laughing stock. But does it end that way? It doesn't coz villains aren't born, they are made. ★★★ S (he) BE (lie) VE (d) Read in between the lines. ★★★ Highest Rankings 🏆 #1 in Campus love story on 04-01-25 #1 in Ethiopia on 12-01-25 #2 in Mistreated on 04-01-25 Started on 20/12/04 ©2025

"And We have made some of you a trial for others. Will you ˹not then˺ be patient?" The first time I read this ayah in surah Furqaan, I had no idea it defined my future so clearly. ********** Hafiz Hakimi;- A 26-year-old Nigerian-American who grew up believing those who worshipped something they couldn't see were crazy motherfuckers. But it wasn't like he would go out of his way to tell them his opinion. His life was perfect, a routine of work, party, fuck, sleep, and repeat. His only source of annoyance was the woman whose vagina he popped out of, but even she was very far away from him. Life was good, everything was great. Until one fateful trip to Nigeria, his home country, set off a tornado that wrecked his mundane to pieces. Aliya Suleiman;- A 22-year-old hafiza whose only goal was to finish studying medicine, the devil's course. She only planned to get married after making her first million dollars, a feat her best friend Jasra said was impossible. She wasn't offended of course, because she never planned to get married. And if she did, it would be to someone more pious than her, mature and respectful; indulging. But then the one person she couldn't say no to begged her with tears in her eyes to marry her son. She was the woman who raised her and provided for her mother and her. There was no way she could refuse. It was the worst thing to have ever happened to both of them. A sudden downpour on an otherwise clear sunny day. He wasn't anywhere near the kind of man she imagined herself with. She was the woman raised by the person he hated the most. It was basically a recipe for disaster. She saw him as a way to repay a favour. He wanted to use her to get revenge. And as such, the stage was set and the curtains lifted. ___ ⚠️⚠️⚠️: UPDATES ON MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS ___ 🚨 This is entirely a work of fiction.
