In the 90s he gets captured by HYDRA, experimentation, torture and abuse; they use him as a soldier.
After all that time as a brainwashed assassin, the Avengers come, Wanda and the others hope to bring him back.
I'm not English so sorry for some mistakes, but I'm being helped a bit.
