Ruka Hayashi is a quiet girl thrust into the oversight and neglect of modern Japanese society. Forced to deal with her fears and anguish with no shoulder to cry on and no friends to help. Abandoned by her mother at a very young age Ruka lives life day by day with her father who has grown too fond of her, a high school that bullies her with students teeming with behavioral problems, and a lack of self worth that aims to claim her life. One day everything changes when Ryuuji Yoshida, a charismatic student counsel member bargains to take her away from all her troubles if she travels to a special place with him. Beaten down with nowhere left to go Ruka decides to make the long journey with this person she does not know. Will she receive the mercy she desperately desires?
