One of a kind.
You've probably already been told something like that before. That there's no one else in the world like you, that you're unique. And until that fateful day, it was true.

"I'll take a major step with this project and I don't care what you do, but don't you dare to trespass that line" She pointed to the yellow tape line on the floor that separated the two, "Got it?" She asked and the boy nodded still looking at his book, "Good, because I'm the only one allowed to go close to that thing... And I may have to go through my calculations again. The boundary line may not be far enough to avoid the possible flash that'll happen after I activate it"
Stephan looked up from his book to stare at his friend with widened eyes and asked with a high pitched voice, "What?!"
"Looks like you're gonna have a slight headache, but you'll be fine. Nothing to worry about. Fifteen minutes until I start up the machine... I'm sure it will be enough time to check these calculations and make sure you're far enough from the blast"
"I would hope you checked that and ensured it before you started the countdown..." The boy mumbled in worry.
Mary waved her hand dismissively as she stepped away from the machine, "Eh, eh, relax. You'll be just fine, it's probably not even gonna be that bad"

But something did go wrong.
And now only one must stick around.

A cruel smile caught up with me. Somewhere at the back of my head, I couldn’t believe what I had just said, but I refused to let the guilt creep into me. If I called him huge before, I didn’t know what I should be calling him now. His entire six and a half foot frame began expanding animistic-ally. Charging like an angry bull, he reached me in two long strides. His eyes budging in fury. As suddenly as he started, he stopped. “You said what?” “Monster” I whispered back. But unwillingly my eyes dropped on the floor. No he did not scare me, but I could not bring myself to look into his eyes after what I just said to him. Nonetheless, he was a monster. Next thing I know, his large rough hands pulls my waist to his torso. Shocked, I looked at him. My eyes flared at his, my eyebrows raised in aftershocks. I flinched at his touch, but his arm kept me in place. I couldn’t no longer read his eyes. He used his free arm to grip my chin and pull it until my neck stretched back, until I looked directly at him. “Say that again” he repeated. ***########*** Curiosity kills the cat. She had never expected the cost of peeking into a stranger’s room to be her freedom. Rosaline James was what we might call a goody-two-shoe. Her dream trip to England gives her more than she bargained for. Fun, excitement she was expecting, but what she never expected was to fall under the mercy of a monstrous possessive billionaire. Nathan Hamilton. She is certain that dangerous trip to London and back to America under the ruthless Hamilton heir would make her experience heights of hatred. "Trust me." His voice was soft and calming, the way that a good father could be assumed to sound. "This isn't what you want, it never has been and it never will be. Confusion is difficult to work through, but if you just let me help you, I can show you that it can be worked through." He rolled up his sleeve, showing several white streaks across his skin. The other was shocked. "N-no, I'm not good for anything, I'm nothing there's nothing for me." He shook his head many times, holding it in his hands after a bit. "No." "Can I touch you?" The boy who was trying to help this poor soul had approached a few paces. His voice was now quieter, more soft, and still caring. The boy at the bridge took a moment to think, then nodded his approval. The savior gently took the boy's hands delicately in his own and gently pulled the boy back. Well, less of a pull and more of a gentle suggestion. It worked and the boy stumbled down off of the edge. The boy started to cry. How could he be so weak that a boy, the same age as him, who seemed to have the same ideas and hatred toward himself as he, could keep him from stepping off? The other simply gently led him to his vehicle and took out a water bottle out of the backseat. The boy took it and looked at it suspiciously. "It's untampered, look, it's still sealed." Upon seeing this, the boy opened it and took a few sips of water. "Thank you. For the water." The savior smiled. "It's nothing much." He shrugged. "Have a phone? If you want I can put my number in and then you'll always be able to tell someone if you're having a pissy day." Surprisingly enough, the boy agreed. . They would both be around twenty.

Prophecy | The Umbrella Academy |

42 parts Complete

"I'm not mad." ------ Cassandra Hargreeves- or Number Eight as her father always called her- was the eighth member of the Umbrella Academy. Despite having powers, she had spent her whole life on the sidelines. She had been trained to fight, of course, but having the power of predicting the future was never going to be useful in a fight. Sir Reginald Hargreeves never allowed her to go on missions with her other siblings with powers. But her power was stronger than he knew. Cassandra's visions haunted her and the one place she could never escape them was in her dreams. She would wake up screaming in the night, rambling about a forthcoming apocalypse that her father brushed off as nonsense. He told her that she'd merely grow out of these nightmares. And it seemed as if she did. As she grew up, her power grew with her. The older she got the more appalled she became by the images of destruction and chaos she saw. Try as she might to warn the others, however much she begged Five not leave her behind or how much she pleaded with Ben to just sit one mission out, no one ever listened to her... until it was too late. She saw the chaos of the apocalypse and this time she was going to make them believe.
