Skye, a 7th grader, has just started high school at a catholic school. She recently moved from the city to a quiet, countryside town with few people. There are some animals at the farm she lives at, though, not enough to interest her for a lifetime. Although she wasn't catholic, her parents thought it was a good school. Her, on the other hand, struggles to grip the reality of life. Nothing was as hard as losing a dad, was it? Or, perhaps, as well as losing your best mate. Though, one day, she treks through the bush one afternoon after school to find an injured horse. What will she do? Call for help, or perhaps try to save it herself?
