After the queen of light was slain, king Soldar, the dark Fae declared dominion over the realms including the five human kingdoms. But there is a prophesy you see, one that foretells his destruction by a Fae. Distracted by the need to hunt down the harbinger of his doom, he ignores the human kingdoms leaving them alone to conduct their business as usual.
Of the five human kingdoms the strongest demesne is the Kingdom of Pretoria. Ruled by the benevolent king Silas, they are preparing to host the annual royal games when his son Prince Byron spies a young boy Darren who has come of age to join the royal army. Evaline, Darren's ever protective sister volunteers to accompany her young brother becoming the first female to ever join the Pretorian royal army.
Despite protests from her friend Caspian, the half brother the prince, his mother Jutu, her best friend Havah and the chatelaine Eve, Evaline is determined to protect her brother at all costs. This is the story of a determined young lady to battle court intrigue, and the specter of the dark Fae lurking in the shadows.

Until I felt nothing at all." Eira Gellert's world comes crumbling down as her sister is forced to leave for the army. The tortures one can endure for love. Marriage takes effort, and no one will find out just how much effort it takes like Sanya Pevensie will. Quests and transformations and mortality, and struggles painful enough that the Sanya who had been a Princess could never have imagined. Grief drives even the most wise of people to rashness, and no one understands that more than Edmund Pevensie does. Brash brothers, compatriots that were once enemies, and a Narnia that the Edmund of the Golden Age would not have recognised. But marriage and grief are not the fortΓ© for all. Susan prefers solemnity, and brooding in silence. Lucy thinks listening is all she can do, in her little body. Asterria has entered an era of renewal following the battle at Durga's How, but its sense of peace cannot be shared by those who heard the dire warning given by the gods. Although ten months have passed, Morana and Tarion still believe that Astaroth could return and are determined to be ready to face him this time. But their people have other priorities which threaten to upend their lives once more. Division is spreading between the people who are pushing for Tarion and Morana to be crowned Asterria's new King and Queen, and those who believe their purpose has been served. They are caught in the rippling tides of change, and with the future hidden from even those who once wrote it, there is no telling where that change will lead. As the tension grows, Morana is becoming more afraid that they won't be prepared to face the new threats emerging, and of what will happen if her worst fears are realized. Only one Heir of Hadeon will remain standing at the end of it all: an immortal God-spawn, or the mortal Phoenix. Can Morana fulfill her destiny and the sacrifices demanded by it to destroy Astaroth once and for all, or will the world be lost in flames? Warning: This book, while being a work of fiction, still deals with real and mature elements. There will be chapters dealing with abuse, gore, PTSD, sexual content, and other topics which some might find triggering. Don't look out into the darkness. Sacrifice and pray. And never dare to leave the convent. These are the sacred rules to follow if you want to survive the creatures lurking outside - and the Order of Wolves, which ensures the village's safety with watchful eyes. So, what to do when you accidentally violate one of them on the very first night and receive a divination you shouldn't outlive? However, it's not Saskia they hold responsible, but her fellow sister Katinka. When coldblooded Prince Silvan von Winterthal and his order take her, Saskia is eager to break all those rules at once and more to get her back. And if she must risk her own life making a deal with a devil while the Wild Hunt ravages the lands, she will. ______________ ONC 2024 ENTRY: Prompts 25, 28, 95
