There is a secret as old as the war being fought to protect it, Mankind has never been the only intellegent being on this planet. There is another race of intelligent beings that have controlled mankind through special events throughout history.  Each event coinciding with the ritual of 5 killings at prescribed times and solar allignments. The time has come for them to stage the last event and to take control of humanity. In 7 days the event will take place. 

A special breed of assassins are used to carry out the ritual, ones that cannot kill until their master has died. A dieing assassin must select and train his replacement ready for the final event. He must select him from the most gifted serial killers, kill any compulsion for good that he may have and have him ready for the final event.  Follow the Patriarch as he must battle love, hate and betrayal to become the greatest serial killer the world will ever know to inspire the greatest tragedy the world will ever see
