Evan Hansen is a high school senior who struggles with severe anxiety. On the first day of school, he has a chance encounter with Connor Murphy. The story goes that Connor takes the letter from Evan and runs off. Evan never sees him again live.
This time, however, things are different. Evan has an appointment after school with Dr. Sherman, his therapist. Without his letter, though, attending is pointless. Instead, Evan makes a trip to Ellison State Park. There, he changes the story.
