"Dragnaple has no place for scrawny, malformed, spectacled, wanna-be heroes."

Meadow Grass isn't what most would consider a "normal" hero, and definitely not like the characters he reads about in his books. He stutters when he talks, tinkers instead of destroys, and is an absolutely lousy fighter. But, if there is one thing he's learned from his short time as a Defender, it's that heroes are never the ones everyone expects. And now he is going to have a chance to prove it.

Something's gone terribly wrong in Dragnaple. A new villain has escaped the Dark Realm and is brainwashing a ll of the tribes to become the evil versions of themselves. When that same darkness takes control of everyone on his team except him, he will have to find the courage inside of him to rise from the shadows, save the realms, and maybe discover himself along the way.

"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing." ~1st Corinthians 13: 1-3

Yet again Darkness is hungry for a war to end it all, but Light will always have troops at the ready. One girl. One kingdom. Eleven friends. Four Elements. No biggie. * I'm Melody, hybrid freak, nice to meet you, strange muggle who I know nothing about. I used to be like you, cluelessly ignorant and uninvolved with the outside world. You know, they have a big, yellow ball of gas in the sky. Weird. Anyway my life became something out of a bad Si-Fi movie, and no, Nicolas Cage isn't in it (sadly). There are two forces in the world, Light and Darkness, and when you side with Light, Darkness gets a stick up its ass and wants you to suffer. My friends and I, we roll with Light, you must know where that leads.... I have a kingdom to learn, powers to master, loud friends to keep in line, a boy that I'm messed up over, and above it all, Darkness to show whose boss. Not as easy as you might think, but this is MY story, and I know how it ends. Being a loyal follower of Light shows me the beauty in life and the devastation it can cause. Don't get me wrong, I love Light, but Darkness makes it hard to stay and fight. * Melody is weird. She's childish. She's awkward. And she's got boy issues she needs to work out. Mel will face evil like no other, but can she do it? Will the scales of Light and Darkness finally be tipped? How can one girl make a difference? This is Melody, a corky teenager, and she wants you to read her story. Like now. Enjoy! Highest rank- #69 in Fantasy (Still cant believe it!!)
Cassiopea's School for the Gifted by artsykid04
12 parts Complete
In a world where magical creatures and humans intermix, there are two types of magic and two types of people. Dark magic and light magic. Good people and evil people. Our main character is going to learn that your powers do not define who you are as a person. Arion Griffin lives in a society where people with light magic are 'good' and people with dark magic are 'bad'. He comes from a long line of dark magic. Unfortunately, this causes many problems for his social life since his family's reputation precedes him and makes it so no one will talk with him. He is worried it will make his greatest fear come true. He is terrified he is on the path to becoming evil like his parents. Then, one day at school he gets an invitation from Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. Sure he's heard of it, but only in rumors. The school is just for magical creatures to learn more about themselves and their history. It was made over three hundred years ago and still run by a fairy named Cassiopea and her daughter Cassia. Arion is excited to go because his parents refuse to teach him anything about other magical creatures other than dark magic. They believe it is irrelevant for him to know because they think he will take over the world one day. And why should a leader know anything about his subjects? Arion convinces his parents that if he goes to the school he can do recon on the other magical people so he can learn about them and make it easier for him to take over. With no friends, no siblings, and a very negative outlook on life, he heads to Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. He makes friends and learns that just because he has dark magic, doesn't mean he is evil. *Idk if this is actually a good story but I had a lot of fun writing it! :) *This story has been edited

[DISCONTINUED - OLD AND OUTDATED] Everything was going to be alright, wasn't it? [Lies] No harm would come now because they had gotten past the darkness that sought to destroy them, right? [They were wrong. Like vines the evil grew.] He would recover from this, ... wouldn't he? His family wasn't broken beyond repair .... Everything would be alright ..., correct? [He was broken. They were permanently damaged.] After spending so long with the people who had become a second family to them, and seemingly to FINALLY end the reign of terror that the Darks Empire and the Ingot United Forces brought upon them, Clay and Atlas thought they would be at peace. That the peace they had discovered would last for the rest of their lifetimes. They were terribly wrong. The monsters that loomed around the corner were out there for blood. They thrived off of it .... But this time, they didn't come from the darkness as all. No, they were from some place entirely different. Some say that the greatest of foes doesn't come from the shadows, but from the light itself. ~The original Magics series is by @shadowed-savior/Fan_FictionGirl2. I'd advise reading those and Like a Fire Burns and Smoke and Ashes first before reading this story, as many events that are mentioned are not included in this book. Read at your own risk~ -This story is rated Mature for violence, gore, and themes that might be triggering for the audience. Nothing inappropriate, just lots of blood, death, and emotionally difficult situations for the characters.-

Good morning, I'm Kalliope Aoidós (yes, spelled like this: Καλλιόπη Ἀοιδός... pretty impressive, right?), Technical Account Manager at a company in... well, I'm sure you don't really need my CV for this. Let's try again. Hey, I'm Kalliope Aoidós, and I've got a little problem. Okay, more like an incurable, family-heritage problem. Technically, it's genetic-something my family has been conveniently passing down for centuries. One of my great-great-great-great-grandparents thought it was totally appropriate to insult his muse, calling her a "good-for-nothing" and a "sellout." How charming, right? Too bad that muse was THE Muse after whom I'm named. Apparently, she's not exactly the warm and fuzzy type. So why on earth do I have the honor of carrying the name of the one who cursed my entire family tree? Oh, that was my grandmother's brilliant idea. In a way, they "sacrificed" me to her by giving me her name, hoping it would change her mind about the curse. Spoiler alert: It didn't. So here I am, just like hundreds of my ancestors, stuck in the same lovely swamp. I'm a Book Jumper or, as my grandmother (who has a flair for dramatic epithets) likes to call me, a βιβλιοποδητής, which basically means "walker of books." And these are my stories. Or, more accurately, my delightful misadventures. Copyright 2025 AnemoneMarino. All Rights Reserved. My name carries weight, heavier than you might ever imagine. It is always associated with hatred, fear, and darkness-everything everyone expected me to be. One lesson I learned young is that it's better to be feared. But I was the one scared of him, of her, of their power and my own reflection. I've inherited his dark brown eyes-heavy, emotionless, and empty. I've got her curls, and hell, even her facial features. That's the worst part of me: seeing their creation reflected in my face. I am just another puppet, their biggest disappointment, yet still enough to lead when things get out of hand. Another year of classes, another year closer to my end-mentally and physically. Their whispers follow me everywhere, in every corner, as if I were the cause of all this, as if I had chosen it. Like hell, I would. By now, their ugly words no longer reach me. At least that's what I'm telling myself. My jaw always clenched, holding back any emotion, any words, any fists. I hate how they fear me and how they act around me, but, honestly, I'm even scared of myself. But it was better this way; someone closer than my arm's length would complicate things. Right? Right. Credit for Mattheo Riddle goes out to Yasemin and anything related to Harry Potter obviously to JK Rowling.💗 Her headcanons of him are mixed with mine a little.
