The Lie He Lives - a short story

16-year old Avery Douglas is trying to cope with the loss of her brother, and the guilt she feels for his death. Thinking it will help Avery and make her realize she's not to blame, her parents think it's a good idea to leave behind their home in Virginia and move south, to Georgia. Once they get there, Avery feels completely out of place until she meets Daniel Lewis, who has also lost a loved one before. But when Daniel mysteriously disappears, and Avery thinks he purposely left her, she turns to Michael Evans, a 17-year old guy whose been trying to get her attention since day one.
But what happens, when Daniel reappears and claims his disappearance was Michael's fault?
