The crowd. 
The fire. 
The empty look in Morgana's eyes. 
Everyone watching Arthur Pendragon die. 
It was warm. Almost comforting. If it hasn't been for the smoke, I might have even enjoy this. 
"STOP!" 
A loud yell from the sky. 
A dragon flying in. 
The crowd screaming and dissolving. 
The hateful look in Morgana's eyes. 
The man jumped off the violent creature, waved his hand in my direction, and the flames were out. 
Complete silence. 
Not even the dragon was breathing. It almost seemed as terrified of the man that rode him as the people where of him. 
The sky was dark now. Darker than it had been. 
It started pouring, but the rain was silent too. 
"WE HAD A DEAL!" The man yelled. His voice higher than a dragon's roar. 
The dragon stepped back, whimpering by the dragonlord. Last one, I would guess, as I was there when the other last one was killed. 
"Emrys." Morgana's voice was filled with venom.

It's just an ordinary in Camelot…well as normal as things get around here. Arthur and Merlin are out on a hunting trip by themselves and all seems well…until they are ambushed by a group of Morgana's men. The duo are separated, Arthur just escaping, but Merlin being caught. They take him back to Morgana, where she proceeds to torture him by twisting his memories. Every happy moment, every sad moment, every moment ever spent between Arthur and Merlin is twisted in Merlin's mind, causing him to believe that Arthur wants him dead. Eager to see Arthur's reaction, she lets Merlin go, making it seem that he escaped. When a search patrol finds him stumbling, weak, in the Valley of the Fallen Kings they approach him delightedly, glad to see he's safe. But when they learn the truth will things ever be the same between Merlin and Arthur again, or will he fear Arthur forevermore?

Dark hair, wild like a bloodthirsty animal, contrasted sharply against her pale, creamy skin. Merthur AU (Set around early season 4) Arthur Pendragon is the new king of Camelot having assumed the throne after his father's death at the hands of his sister, Morgana. The Druid advises the king to seek out the man, for Arthur's destiny cannot begin without him, for he is Morgana's doom. Merlin is a young warlock living in the small farming village of Ealdor. His life is quiet. He spends his days toiling away at the fields with his best friend Will while honing his magical talents with the help of his mentor, Gaius, the physician from Camelot who visits on occasion. When he meets Arthur Pendragon, he can't help but hate the prat. Of course, until he gets to know him better. Meanwhile, Morgana scours the kingdom for the sorcerer Emrys. Desperate to find him before he finds her. When her search leads her towards Ealdor, she's surprised to find Arthur there, and with a scrawny peasant boy no less. As their paths cross in the usually uneventful village, it becomes a race between the son and daughter of Uther Pendragon to either save or destroy Emrys.
