Thriteen-year-old, Aubrey Tanner just wanted to skip the tedious tradition at Little Tykes Elementary School and receive the stupid paper to move onto middle school (like it's a permission slip saying your worthy to get older). But no. She and the fifth graders had to tag along to the abandoned all-boys school and leave a painted handprint on an empty desk. Least it's not all bad with her new sixth-grade neighbor/friend Simon but with the closeness, he's been putting on her, she's worried the summer heats getting to everyone lately.

Five Things
This story involves many things. Perhaps it's clichè and perhaps it's not. It's the story of Max Keller. The girl who was forced to move and transfer schools when she was fourteen only to be harassed by a boy with lots of freckle and lots of questions. Five to be exact. Five questions so aggravating and annoying that she decided to hate this boy forever. And ever. Now as a sixteen year old girl her hatred for the handsome menace has only grown and shows no signs of shrinking. This story involves a lot of drama, a lot of hate, and at one point she may or may not have had her underwear stolen. Granted, it's by a very attractive neighbor but it's annoying nonetheless. Soon they were playing with Cupid's arrows trying to set up the unlikeliest couple imaginable, but what they seemed to have forgotten was Fate's wierd sense of humor and so it turned out while they were playing with Cupid's Arrows, he was aiming them at these two instead.
