Nothing had changed in my heart, but I looked into the face of a man, no longer a boy. The only thing that hadn't changed about him was the color of his clear green eyes. No turtle shell glasses. No gap between his front teeth.

Blinking my eyes to adjust to the sunlight, I look up to the massive silver truck that's dominating the majority of my driveway. Cutting through the still damp grass, my heart beat quickens and I open the passenger door. Fear makes me duck my head as I climb up the black leather seat. Shutting the door behind me, I swallow my nerves and look into the face of the boy I've loved my entire life. Stupid jock.
