Riley Comeau has terrible luck. Lightbulbs shatter in his presence, stoves catch on fire (more so than usual) and microwaves explode. 
He doesn't have superpowers--at least, that's what everyone tells him.

When an old acquaintance unexpectedly invites Riley to join a fraternity with three other guys, he expects a little chaos.

What he doesn't expect is to witness a superhero emerging for the first time in Astral City, nor does he expect to have to take matters into his own hands. But life with a secret identity might give him the boost he needs to finish his research for university, while slowly bringing him closer to the one hero who Riley can't seem to resist.

He does nothing and is nothing, but he has no problem with that. In fact, he enjoys it. No expectations, no responsibilities, no worries. But that all ends when Culver gets swooped by a magpie on a seemingly mundane trip to pick up some weed. A scratch and a peck, and suddenly he's growing wings and other avian attributes. And what's a boy supposed to do when he's suddenly a budget avian Spiderman and there are plenty of bad people causing havoc in the world? Well, be a superhero, of course. This is the story of a lazy suburban Birdboy (name pending), his friends and their journey to save the world, one swoop at a time.

When you're a teenage undercover as a part-time superhero you have three options: You can pull on the nerd/geek high schooler or a bad boy/outcast type of high schooler. There's always the bystander, but that's never any fun. Whatever fits you most. I definitely fell into the category of a bad boy/outcast. I've always been a bit 'intimidating', so they say, even before I got my powers. So I stuck to it. Besides, who would ever think that the bad boy is actually a superhero? Apparently, a certain someone, Jenna Davison if we're going to be specific, the good girl somehow caught on to my little alter ego. And well that kind of turned both of our lives upside down, inside out, and just backwards!
