Violetta loved nothing more than her beloved grandmother - an invisible bond had connected them from the day she had seen the light of day. Magical stories of lovers in Paris caught in timeless letters and unbreakable friendships carried into the south of France had shaped her into the person she was today. And as time always did, it had snatched her grandmother away from her when she least expected it. Yet, Violetta wouldn't let her go. She couldn't. Not with all the letters her grandmother had read to her, not with all the letters that she wrote to her loved ones that had remained in France. Not with her soul still breathing and thriving in the alleys made of roses. There were too many secrets to be uncovered, so many ordinary things that would feel magical, and so many old letters that would smell new, filling Violetta with memories of a youth that was never her's.

I thought I saw the colour gold flicker in her eyes, for a few seconds before I lifted my hand near her face and tucked a strand of her wavy hair behind her ear, before I said: "I fell in love with you, the first second I saw you reading that Tolstoy book in the library." She looked up at me, her warm beige skin looked like it was glowing now and she said with pure sincerity in her eyes "per sempre, in ogni dimensione, per sempre in ogni vita, solo tu fino al mio ultimo respiro amore mio" It meant (Forever, in every dimension, forever in every life, only you until my last breath, my love) I snaked my hands around her waist and pulled her close to me. Before kissing her the way I wanted to all this time, i looked into her eyes and said "Me too my love, me too." My first novel is about soulmates. And reincarnation. About, how many bodies a soul has to live in before they finally become their true selves. And before they finally get to be with their soulmate. It's about how love has so many faces. It's about how we never know what roads life will force us to cross. And what emotions we will be gifted to feel. And the things we're blessed with that sometimes we neglect. It's about giving yourself the time to grow and evolve before you give yourself to someone completely. And it's about not to take the love you have in your life for granted.
