"The sun always shines brighter than the moon. That's how it's always been. No matter what any of us say or do, I can never shine as bright as you."

•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•

Every single day, she'd wake up early in the morning to watch the sunrise. As the beautiful colors clash and create an iridescent sky, she couldn't help but remember him. He was exactly like the sun. Warm, bright, comforting; he can bring light to those around him, he can distribute colors to those who don't have them, and he can light up the moon, who lights up the night.

It's irrefutable that the girl still misses him dearly. He had become her source of energy. He held a special place in her heart. A place no one could take from him. Just like how nothing could replace the sun.

"I never break promises," she'd tell him.

She promised him many things. However, there's a first for everything.

Will fate allow her to keep her promises?
Or will the darkness of death continue to ruin her?

"So tell me, Aoi - tell me, why do you, a person who doesn't even want to lift a sword, can make a strong man like me feel sick and weak without you?" "You annoy me, kiss me when you're not supposed to and always steal food. But you broke my walls down and made me fall, real hard, in love with you too." Inosuke is a short-tempered young man who grew up in the mountains. He learned about affection and love through his two best friends, Tanjiro and Zenitsu. The women he cared for in his life are dead. Aoi survived the Final Selection, but she thinks of herself as weak and incapable to defeat demons. In turn, she becomes a helper at the Butterfly Mansion and is always attending to the sick and injured. As he spends more time in the Butterfly Mansion, waiting for his best friends to wake up, Inosuke realizes that he gets drawn to Aoi. How is that possible? They fight all the time. "What are you looking at?" Aoi growls. "I use my eyes to look at whatever I want!" Later, seeing Kanao getting together with Tanjiro and Nezuko falling in love with Zenitsu; sometimes Inosuke wonders if a strong man like him doesn't need a woman. He is wrong. He isn't immune to love. Warning: Slow-burn romance. I depict realistic circumstances related to the age of characters, historical period and their respective personalities. [p/s: This story takes place after the defeat of Muzan. The male main characters and the girls are already seventeen. The universe is still exclusively following the manga/anime. Non-manga readers, you have been warned]

"Giyuu-sama!" Aoi's voice broke through the tension, filled with relief as she hurried to Kanao's side, carefully cradling her. "The sun is almost up! We just need to...to..." Her words caught in her throat, her breath hitching as she looked up at Giyuu. He turned to face her, and what she saw made her blood run cold. Giyuu's eyes-once deep, round pools of blue that looked like a calm ocean-were now sharp, vertical slits, glowing with an unnatural light. Aoi's heart pounded in her chest, the realization crashing over her like a wave. The man who had fought so valiantly to protect them, who had refused to give in even when the odds were against him... was now one of them. "No..." she whispered, her voice trembling. "It can't be..." But the truth was undeniable. Giyuu was no longer human. He was a demon. ----- I finally protected someone." Giyuu thought, staring at the faces of Aoi Kanzaki, Kanao Tsuyuri, Kiyo, Naho, and Sumi. Sabito, Nee-san... are you proud of me?
