New York: The city of dreams. Currently, it is occupied by two of the largest dreamers known to man-kind. Cosette, a dancer, with dreams of seeing her name in a playbill for a Broadway show. And Marius. A shy photographer hoping to capture a city in a way that will captivate the globe. In a city so large, and their dreams clouding their minds, the two never imagine that their wishes will entangle with one another, and neither expects the changes to come from it.
A modern AU fanfiction of Les Mis. Marisette is the main ship, with mentions of Enjoltaire. The story is mine, but the characters mentioned were conjured by the amazing Victor Hugo.

Everyone who is familiar with the story of Les Miserables is familiar with the tale of Marius Pontmercy and his love Cosette. Their love story is able to cast a tiny glimmer of hope upon the tragic tale. However, what if the origins of their love had not been as bright as written down? Their wealth never clouded their judgement, and neither did their poverty when the money was stripped away from them. More like they were stripped away from the money. Odette's mother died when she was fairly young, and after her father remarried, he was shortly reported missing after heading off to battle. A cruel step-mother cut Odette out of the life her parents wanted her to grow up in, and she was forced to work in the streets from age thirteen in 1826 till 1829 when she was reunited with her best friend. And now she works to keep herself and her new found family going, whilst fighting. Fighting hard for a better shot at survival. But what if someone is one her mind?
