Each year at the end of November, all of Alaska's inhabitants are imposed to bid their farewells to the sun. It is acknowledged as the annual Thirty Days of Night. The land is submerged in a complete darkness, plunged into a treacherous month-long night where nightmares become reality. River is a lone wolf. After being exiled from her birth pack, she finds herself grounded in a nasty situation. The new-found twilight begins to take it's toll as she's left stranded in obscurity, blind and vulnerable while predators lurk behind the trees. "Shift." His voice hit me like a serrated blade as he stepped out of the crude semicircle of hardened wolves that had formed around me. I pushed myself off of the cold floor for what felt like the thousandth time that day, wiping the small trail of blood coming off of my lip and down my chin. "I won't ask you again."
