Joesph Duane "J.D." Barnes, born to be a boy but later finding out she was intersex. Having a simple life along with her brother James "Bucky" things were good but later on joining the army with her brother then her best friend Steve also joining things quickly changed.
She's now in the 21st century with Steve, being found in ice. The country shaken when they hear that Captain America and Sergeant Brawns have returned.
They think things could go back to as normal as possible for them but boy, are they wrong.
It doesn't help that J.D. is reserved with everyone that isn't her best pal Steve. So when she has to work with a bunch of new people it won't be easy especially with a certain red head.
They'll quickly find out why she was given the name Sargeant Brawns.
But physical strength can only protect so much for so long....

Steve Rogers tried to isolated himself from the rest of the Avengers and the world after what he did to Tony Stark, his friend and teammate. However, after he drops Bucky off in Wakanda where he'll be safe, Steve feels more alone than ever. Natasha Romanoff is on her own. Bruce Banner is still missing, Thor is off who-knows-where doing who-knows-what, and the Avengers are scattered. Nevertheless, she's perfectly okay with being alone. She always has been. Knowing that Steve is alone, however? It worries her. After a big fight with her father, she makes him agree to let her help the Avengers, but with three ground rules. • Excessive training so she will always be prepared • No missions until she is qualified by him • No romantic involvements with any members of the team She of course agreed on everything, finding silly that he would even think she would want an avenger, since everybody was so nuch older than her, except for Peter of course, but he is her best friend, so he doesn't count. After moving in the Avengers tower, her life changes. But nothing really big is assigned to her for the first 4 months. Until Steve Rogers talks about recruiting an old friend of his. Bucky Barnes is an ex-assasin, mind controlled by HYDRA for years and finally saved by the avengers , who thought they put an end to his misery. Nightmares and paranoia, won't even let him step out of the house which makes him exist more as an entity than a person. When his good friend from the past offers him a job for the avengers, he never thinks he will take it. Until he realises work may be the only thing he truly needs to get back to his old life, if that is even possible. When they meet they both come to the conclusion that they will never get along. Though he had only known her a few days, during the battle with Loki, he found that she had completely entranced him. Ana didn't know who she was before Clint had found her and saved her. She idolised him, and followed in his footsteps, becoming an agent of SHIELD. Her life takes a complete turn, when she finds herself taken after the battle. ***** When he had returned to Midgard, Earth a few years later, with a reformed Loki, he finds that she had been missing and presumed dead almost as long as he had been gone. When the Avengers hit a Hydra base, to get back the scepter, they come across a room, where someone is bound, from the ceiling. Rescuing the fraile figure, they return to the jet victorious, only to find their rescue, is none other than Ana. She was barely conscious, and from clear signs, she was not there willingly. Taking her back to the tower, they try to help her, only to find that she has no memory of them, and now holding her own power. Thor wants nothing more than to destroy every single person who had hurt her, his need to protect her burning within him. The only comfort she finds is in his brother and the metal armed soldier, needing them both to protect her. ***** Being in a new place, surrounded by so many people, she felt overwhelmed, terrified that they would hurt her like the others.
