There is a world, hidden of the mundanes, the humans, where the heroes discriminate and the "villains" are convicted of their demonic descent by shadowhunters (a demon hunting society).
Alec,one of the heroes and Magnus, a warlock with demonic blood, fall in love.
The government of the shadow world stands in the way of their love; but it won't stop them from loving each other. Only the fact that Magnus is immortal and Alec will die one day makes them doubt their relationship.
