When Aurora was born an evil curse was placed upon her by her father's ex. On Aurora's coronation, Maleficent placed a curse that on her 16th birthday she would prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die. After Maleficent left a fairy changed the curse that she would fall in a deep sleep and could be wakened by true loves kiss. When Maleficent found this out she searched all the different realms for a way to stop this. She found the worst spell that she could use to get her revenge. That she would send Aurora somewhere, where she would never have a happy ever after.
