These are 7 short stories that are heavily influenced by dreams that I've had. They all continue into second parts that correspond and connect with what happened in the first part of each story. All of them are not connected. Each one is in its own universe. Each filled with symbolism and vague characters with no name, no context, no setting, and no straight answers. Just like a dream.

A/N: I decided to do these short stories because as mentioned above, I always have the strangest dreams and I end up creating stories in my head with the influence of music and being in a constant fantasy world in my mind. So I knew I had to write them all down because they constantly plague my mind. I'm talking months. Some I've had to create a continuous plot or I've became more inspired as I wrote them because some of my dreams were so strange that I had to fill in the gaps and also create the characters involved in each story. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have~

I'm posting this looking for some feedback. Any constructive criticism will be greatly appreciated. Writing has always provided me with solace, by helping me to sort through and frame my emotional experience. During one of the more difficult times in my life--recognizing a toxic marriage and leaving--I used writing to understand what was happening. The poems, short stories, and essays here reflect my fragmented journey toward mental health. Works of art, they are not. However, I hope they can help others with their own journeys, even if only to provide comfort in knowing that they are not alone. Seven Ages of Something by alanrp42

For camp NaNoWriMo in April I decided to write seven short stories each one set later in history and with an older main character than the one before. Some of these stories have worked very well I think and others less well but I'm offering then all here with only basic editing. 1. The horse conjurer - A little girl in the stone age sees art in a new way 2. Hair the colour of the dawn - A story of Viking America based on an Icelandic saga seen from both a European and a native American point of view. 3. Undiscovered talents - In Victorian England a young woman finds that she can challenge men in a way that surprises them. 4. Love letters - Set in the present day a man makes a discovery in the aftermath of his father's funeral. 5. Neighbours - Millions of people live in one huge building but hardly ever see their neighbours. A chance meeting can change someone's life. 6. Running to stand still - On semi - terraformed Callisto you have to keep moving to stay under the Sun or the freezing night will catch you. 7. Rock of Ages - Billions of years from now the expanding Sun has nearly engulfed the Earth. Explorers look for a treasure left behind after the Exodus.

Welcome to this little book! This is gonna be some of my better small works - poetry and short stories, for the most part, with the occasional dream that I actually end up remembering mixed in. Asylum: Whenever I'm in the hospital or a mental facility, I get bored and write! I thought it would be fascinating to see all the work I make in a "damaged" state collected together. Unsent Letters: If I have something to say to someone but I can't for whatever reason, I'll write a letter to the person. Maybe it's angry, or sad, or an update, or just a much-needed, long-awaited hello. And the hope is that I'll publish it and maybe, someday, someone will pick my book up off a shelf and find that letter I write to them. Would sending them a letter be more effective? Yes. The Road to Paradise by Ravenshuliet

This book has a bunch of poems that have bits and pieces of my life in them. I write whatever comes to mind, and it usually makes sense. But everything has a hidden meaning. Of course, some of it is random, but it all comes together (plus I like to have fun). Every time I write a new poem I put it in order with the other poems- I have my book written in a specific order with different topics clustered together. The beginning is more sad, written with poems about tragedy, lost love, and mental illness. Towards the middle there are some poems that focus more on make believe. Further into the book the topics lean mostly into feelings of romance and belonging. I hope you enjoy all that I have written in this book (or at least some of it!).

Either caused by my anxiety or troubles that I don't acknowledge. People always say that there's meaning behind dreams and I'm here to figure out what it means or just to share an interesting tale. Some people have wacky dreams but for some reason mine seems to be pretty creative and straight forward that's good enough to write a story for.
