Jun-jun spent most of his young adolescent life in the streets of Manila. After escaping from a government-run shelter to return home, he learned of his father's death in an anti-drug police operation. Resorting back to the streets, Jun-jun must find means to get by. With his friends already scampering away from the police and his uncle laying low for fear of being targeted next, sooner or later, Jun-jun's hope of a new home may just only be left in tatters.

Fresh off the streets is a street kid named Mango. She has lived in Johannesburg, South Africa her whole life, but only discovered the cruelty of the streets five years prior, when her dear mother died.
She meets a police officer who offers her all she can dream of, but she has to refuse - it's too much of an offer to accept. She's kindly forced to live with the policeman's son, Khaya, who she finds quite intriguing.
She thought living on the streets was as bad as anything could get, until she realises how much it takes to get up after a million setbacks and unruly people. She realises living on the streets would be much better than the horror she is yet to face.
