Everyone knows the story about the Mikaelson family, how they came to Mystic Falls and ruined the lives of everyone there. No one talked about why everything happened, no one talked about how it all could have been avoided easily, no one talked about it because every story needs a villain and the Mikaelson's were fine with playing the villain. If you're a villain then it meant people wouldn't dare to go against you in fear of dying, being a villain meant being feared. When the rumors of Niklaus and Matthias Mikaelson having children began to circulate throughout the supernatural world, there was no denying that it scared people. The Mikaelson's were already at the top of the food chain, they were superior in every way possible, so having kids just meant that there would be more. It scared people. It scared them because no one wants to talk about how Niklaus is finally happy, how Matthias is finally at peace in his life with minimum stress, or how the rest of the Mikaelson's had found their own place in the world. Instead, people wanted to talk about how they didn't deserve that piece of happiness they found, they wanted to talk about all the bad things done and refused to see that what they were doing now was nothing but live their lives. Because being a part of the Mikaelson bloodline meant you were evil.
