Buried in the cemeteries on the outskirts of Malachi Peak are more than the bodies of past residents. With them rest hundreds of years worth of secrets, pushed down so far that they haven't seen the light of day. The witches, those left after the Salem Witch Trials, went west, desperate to find a new home. Prevailing, they settled in what would eventually be Malachi Peak, Oregon and became the first pentacle to consecrate the land.

On one fateful Halloween, today's Pentacle came together to complete their final bonding ceremony. As they were in the middle of it, darkness blanketed them. When they could finally see, one had just...disappeared. 

Fast-forward a year, things are starting to fall apart. Whispers among the factions say the witches are weak, that it's time for new leadership. The witch is still missing. The year anniversary has passed of her disappearance. Most presume she is dead and others refuse to believe she's gone. 

As powers escalate and the missing witch sends the Pentacle signs, the remaining members will have to unite to find her.

(There are some ethically interesting choices from the main characters, thus the mature rating. But nothing graficly shocking should be included, just a couple of murders discussed that could absolutely not be avoided.) (All characters are strictly fictional. I feel this should be highlighted, for while inspiration is always tied to the outer world, imagination composes a story out of it and colors the outcome with dreams and nightmares.) He never mentioned to Hera that he's going home after two decades. Only his youngest child knows of his trip back home. Whether he believes in curse or not. It's his 45th birthday tomorrow and he must be home to keep his promise to his mother. His family had never forsaken him, he did. He'd been ignoring their summons since he turned his back from them. Perhaps it's time to grant their plea. He closes his office and walks to the elevator. "Good evening, Artemis." The man in a black jacket greets him. Artemis smiles at the stranger. "Do I know you?" The stranger puts his arm around the stunned lawyer. Behind the unknown man's dark glasses are bloodshot eyes ready to scare the wits out of his prey. "Your mother does. She's expecting me to greet you happy birthday." Removing his dark glasses, he stares at his victim to corrupt his eyes. Insurmountable fear assaults Artemis as excruciating pain drills on his eyeballs. A horrible scream slits through the silence of the night when the clock strikes twelve. As the elevator opens, the stranger loosens his grip and the victim falls on the floor. Covering his bleeding eyes, Artemis winces from severe pain.
