"I'm scared, Lapis," he said. He sounded like a young child, desperately grabbing at their mother for a hug after a nightmare. The only difference being that his mother wasn't there to comfort him. "I don't want to hurt anyone. I don't want to become a monster." He rubbed at his eyes, trying to dispel the tears. "I don't want to feel trapped anymore."
Something inside of her snapped at that. "I don't want to feel trapped anymore." She felt her form fixed into a hard surface, unable to move. She felt the weight of wet chains around her wrists, pulling her down into her watery tomb.
