Kiera is a vampire from clan Brujah (think biker gangs) who, after being mistaken for her twin, has to pretend to be from clan Ventrue (think scheming lawyers). She's constantly in conflict with the logic-driven and emotionally-cold vampire Prince. But they always say that love blooms from conflict...
This is just my take of the Vampire the Masquerade world. It's a mix of both politics/mystery and drama/romance. As a psychology student, I also incorporated a lot of themes surrounding depression, grief, despair, anxiety etc. I want the story to be realistic so any romance will be slow-developing. None of that 'met this mysterious hot guy and bam, fall in love for no reason' nonsense.
You do not need knowledge of the Vampire the Masquerade world to read this story because I will explain the terms used. The VTM world is basically about vampires but with more politics than the typical vampire world.
