We all wear a mask. It just depends on which one we choose to wear.
Everyone has a choice. 
Joelle didn't.

Every year the town of North Piers has a masquerade ball and everyone in town is required to attend. 
Each person is required to wear a mask to the ball.
No exceptions. 

Joelle wished for a lot of things. She wished she was prettier. She wished--
