This story is SOMEWHAT  based on a real world event (thankfully no one was injured). In the real world event no one was using the welder at the time and there was no water involved. In the real world one of the outlets went bad due to too much grid dust causing the welder to arc out (shoot a bunch of sparks from  where the wires go into the machine its self.)
