This is my first fanfic and I'm not really sure what exactly to write. Please don't hate me if this fic is bad (but I do appreciate constructive criticism), I think I'm mainly writing this fanfic because I was so moved by episode 9 of Given after Mafuyu sang "winter story" and let out all his pain and agony. I was in literal tears when he screamed into the mic during that one part of the song because you could hear the pain in his voice (kudos to the voice actor/singer honestly). I just wanted to give him a hug even though he's just a fictional character (lol that sounds weird, but hopefully you get what I mean?). Some anime convey really deep meanings and those anime are always stuck in my head for some reason. Anyway rant over, y'all are here for the fic and not my rant, so let's just get this over with.
This fic is gonna be just a slight twist to the original story. The characters will all remain the same and so will their backgrounds (for the most part). My main focus will be on Mafuyu and Uenoyama's relationship and how they both journey together with their band and overcome problems they encounter. Ritsuka (Uenoyama) helps Sato (Mafuyu) open up and they finally start dating, but things change when the two step into a huge argument resulting in hurtful words and a déjà vu of events.
Don't worry though, I'm not that mean, I promise you there'll be a good ending (or not ;)), guess you'll just have to stick around to find out hehehe.

In the Given series we get to know Mafuyu Sato's tragic past with his childhood friend/lover. This is just my own original character fanfic about a girl that was also his childhood friend. It's a short one shot about love, betrayal and pain. There are triggers about sexual abuse, physical abuse and suicide. Mika Ito is the original character. A young girl who is abused by her father, she meets the boys the same day they meet (ya know what I mean). Her feelings grow for Mafuyu more than friendship and she confesses to him. What he decides to do changes the course of their lives. (I posted this story before but it was in an embarrassing bullet-point format. I'll still leave it up because I'm lazy. But I really wanted to write it properly. I want to add more on to this, like more detail, but again I'm lazy. For now, please enjoy my crappy writing). Eventually he realizes - he's in love with Shōyō Hinata, a classmate of his. Hinata is a short, orange-haired and bubbly boy. Everyone spreads rumors about Hinata for being a "slut", although Hinata is still a virgin. Kageyama also notices Tsukishima has been a bit more, aggressive, when he's bullying Kageyama. Noya usually has to hold Tsukki back, making sure they don't get in trouble for what their doing. Eventually Kageyama "moves in" with Hinata, living with him and his family to escape Kageyama's abusive parents. Finally Kageyama's parents stop contacting him, basically giving up on trying to find him and bring him back.
