Fifteen-year-old Jasmine Silver has always wondered about her kind, mysterious grandparents. They live only an hour away from her, but they always seem a century further. She's constantly curious about what goes on in their house.

So when her parents announce she's going to stay at her grandparents' house for a month, Jasmine is ecstatic, even if it means she's going to have to leave her friend Jason behind.
When she first gets there, nothing is out of the ordinary, until Jasmine starts having strange visions and remembering things that she herself didn't witness. She comes to a startling realization:

She lived there once.

Suddenly, Jasmine is thrust into a world of wild deceptions and mysteries. Who is the mysterious girl who seems to be following Jasmine everywhere? Why do Jasmine's grandparents forbid her from leaving the property without them? Why does she keep seeing hints of flame in the forest behind her grandparents' house?

And what truly goes on behind closed doors?
