The Re - A Short Story (Young Writer's Short Story)

Lexa and Oli are Re, genetically modified clones of teenage citizens of the country Ginys. They are treated terribly, forced to work long, harsh days. To most of the nation, they are no more than animals—or slaves.

OLI is a guard, charged with protecting the Ginysians who do not know everything they have been told about the Re is a lie. And he hates them for it.

LEXA is the face of the Re—she is on propaganda banners, flyers, and billboards. But she is also the face of the rebellion—a rebellion that is rocking Ginys to its core behind the scenes.

Re are not supposed to feel any emotion, but what they have always felt for each other is beautiful, real, and dangerous—and highly forbidden.
