Kristen Wood is a witty, sarcastic, and emotionally scarred 24 year old college graduate with a strong talent for singing. In spite of the fact that she's the one who brings home the bacon, her dysfunctional family kicks her out with nowhere to go.
Jude Rhett Byron, or J. R Byron, is a dashing, kind, and quiet 30 year old novelist at the height of his successful career. However, because of a trauma concerning his past, he has gone mute, closed off from the world, and has gotten white hairs at a very young age.
By a total fluke, Jude and Kristen meet, and under certain circumstances, he invites her to stay in his home with the promise of a job.
Of course, he doesn't speak and uses his own method to communicate.
For her part, Kristen attempts to understand this man the best way she can while dealing with her own troubles.
These two completely different people go on to entangle themselves into something passionate, complicated, and uncertain.
The real question is: How complicated and uncertain will they allow it to be?

Vaani Joshi never expected love from her arranged marriage - just respect, maybe some space, and silence she could live with.
Dhruv Deshmukh was exactly that: powerful, unreadable, and cold.
He didn't ask her what she liked. He didn't ask how her day was.
And she never asked for anything.
But then he started noticing.
Not her words - her silences.
Not what she wanted - what she gave up.
The man who never looked twice is now the one who watches her the closest.
And the girl who never expected anything...
is the reason he's learning how to give everything.
