Once upon a time... Far, far away...

That's how all tales start, don't they? Mother would know. But Mother's gone and Corbin has to learn how to deal with eerily familiar voices coming from the misty forest, mysterious boys with charming smiles in the blooming fields, and cruel stepmothers taking over your manor and making you their personal servant.

Of course, finding the reason why most people think you're a bloodthirsty monster is that you're half-Fae does throw a bit of a spanner in the works...

He can only hope this will all work out in the end.

Nicholas Lao Batista, editorial assistant at Will & Williamson Publishing, was not a naturally quiet person. Very few knew this, and he was not one of them. What he failed to say out loud, he wrote instead. It was something a starving artist would say, the kind he would talk shit on if he were loud and a hypocrite. Unfortunately for him, Nicholas was the starving artist, and his art was all he had: his only chance to be at the center of something. It all started with a ball. You're 18 he said, it's time to find a girl and get married he said. And give me grandchildren! I tried to said no, but it's not like I had a say in the matter. So there was a ball and a shoe incident. I don't want to bore you with details, it sucked and I hate dancing. I'll make the story short for you. To please my father the king, I'm traveling the countryside searching for the owner of the shoe and everyone but me seems to believe that when I find her, I'll live happily ever after... ... F**ng shoe! 👠 We all know the fairytale: Cinderella, the fairy godmother, the pumpkin, the cute animals, the ball and the happy ending. But what if the prince doesn't want a wife at all? Maybe he doesn't even want to be a prince? This Prince Charming is hopelessly in love with his best friend Adam and has no intention at all to marry whoever owns the glass shoe. Will he ever come out and tell his friend about his feelings? And what will happen when the shoe finally finds it's owner? Part 1: Today was supposed to be my fairytale day. My perfect wedding day. I made my way to David, he took my hand in his, walking us closer to the long faced man who would be marrying us. The officiant started, greeting the room full of all my family, all of David's family. Going through the first reading easily. Giving their peace on the joy of marriages, it was bland, but acceptable. Moving along, the officiant announced in a loud voice, "If anyone here knows of any reason why these two should not be lawfully wed, let them speak now, or forever hold their peace." The officiant boomed over the crowd. I was caught off guard. This part was supposed to be just a formality, just a box to tick. No one was supposed to say anything. The world started to go in slow motion as Verity moved behind me a flicker in the corner of my vision. "David, I can't hide anymore." He said. As David's eyes went from me, to Verity, filled with concern. David looked over my head at Verity while he was holding my hands in his. I heard the crowd gasp, before everyone started to whisper. David dropped my hands. The whispers increased in intensity. Making the room sound like it was full of hissing snakes. David's attention wasn't anywhere near me. I looked up to see him looking over my head at my brother. With a look I had thought he had saved just for me, my heart breaking as my fairy tale became a nightmare. Part 2 also complete July 2023.

Jayden was never meant to be a prince, but when he gets adopted by the king and queen, he has to prepare himself for the challenges ahead. Luckily, his personal knight, Kam, is there to help him out. Together, they will have to deal with mages, fight dragons, and face windigos. Follow them as they learn more about each other, and learn to look past their deferences to accomplish their goals and save the kingdom. Firstly, a huge thanks to my friend Sophia (@sopheyyis or @B1ashe) for drawing the cover. She is an amazing artist, go follow her on instagram and tik toc because she is the best. Warning: this is not for kids or people sensitive to triggers. I tend to write on the dark side, just so you know. There will be no smut, but there will be mentions of sex, abuse, abandonment, a little bit of swearing and this list could be updated as the story goes on. I usually don't write romance, but I want to get better at it, so here we go... About updates, I wish I could say I will be posting at least once a day but I know that won't be true because I'm currently editing my book that I am publishing this summer (2020) and this story is more of just a de-stressor (is that a word) so the grammar and writing, especially the tense (it will most likely flip between present and past tense, just pretend it is all the same) might not be perfect, but I just felt like writing it. He's also fighting with everything he has to marry for love and not for political gain. When he nearly tramples an angel on a hunt he finds himself falling head over heels for a boy who keeps disappearing. Once upon a time a snow king fell for an apathetic servant, then a prince-turned-bear found true love in a fellow prince who almost shot him in the face. Almost. Then, of course, one can't forget a monster who found himself wanting to be more human. Bit by bit. For love. Protagonists quirky and not, sarcastic and witty and a bit too self-aware. Every fairy tale has their typical happy ending but it looks as though these ones had to take detours and backtrack on the way to theirs... oh well. As long as it ends well, who cares if it's a little bit odd. Each story is its own stand-alone tale of romance, though there may be bonus shorts for some.
