Dylan can no longer deny his feelings for Uratsch. Uratsch, on the other hand, marries the beautiful elf Maeve in two weeks and Dylan will not find a place in this new life of his best friend - at least he thinks. A letter from his cousin Gail makes him leave suddenly and travel to her in Goldedge. Actually, he doesn't want to go back to Engelstadt, but despite all efforts to leave the city undetected, Uratsch follows him and accompanies him on his journey, firmly convinced that they are both back in Engelstadt on time for their wedding. How will the prince react if he learns that Dylan doesn't want to go back to Engelstadt?

The rock being her arranged engagement with the Prince of the neighboring kingdom -- a handsome charmer by the name of Balthazar Blade -- and the hard place being her secret relationship with the palace stable boy. What's a Princess to do? Ferdinand Lovelle, Prince of Adaia, finds himself in a similar predicament. Upon the arrival of Prince Balthazar, he can't ignore the implications of his growing attraction, and he knows that his feelings must be set aside for the sake of Adaia. But as time passes, he finds it harder and harder to resist the calling of his heart. With their older sister's coronation rapidly approaching, Rose and Ferdinand must answer one question: Will they honor their kingdom, or follow their hearts?
