In einer Nacht kann viel geschehen. Und in dieser Nacht geht es um sechs Menschen in einer Stadt, die sich nicht kennen, sich nie gesehen haben und das vermutlich auch nie werden. Sie sind nicht miteinander verbunden, suchen sich nicht, werden sich auch nicht finden.
Diese Nacht wird das Leben einiger von ihnen vollkommen verändern, das Leben der anderen jedoch gar nicht.
Und die Gedichte dazwischen sind nur da, um da zu sein.

My neighbour's house is normal. There are two stories, stairs, and a tiny porch. A red door, and many windows with pretty crimson shutters. My neighbour's house is normal. The lights are on when they need to be, and off when they don't. The grass is mown, and there are sometimes cars in the driveway. My neighbour's house is normal. Sometimes I can see into some of the rooms. Always when I'm not really trying. The rooms are nice, with a warm colour scheme and polished wooden furniture. There is one room that is entirely white. A bare bulb swings from the ceiling. From the outside, I can see no furniture. The walls are old and stained.. There are no shutters on that window. My neighbour's house is normal. I see them sometimes. They're gone most of the day. We wave when we see each other, coming or going. Those two seem nice. Didn't they used to have a son about my age? My neighbour's house is normal. They turn off their lights about the same time we do. Except in that one room. The lights in the white room stay on late each night. I tried to watch them, once, to see how late they stayed on. Keep it Casual
She's lived the last 20 years trying not dwell on the traumatic hardships of her past as they constantly replay in the back of her mind. Made a promise to live a full (semi carefree) life, spreading love and joy, all the while never wanting (more like fearing) anything permanent. It can feel lonely, but it's how she's always coped. And with his own hardships, he's not looking for anything other than to have a good time and celebrate with old friends on their new chapter in life. Somewhat acquainted due to mutual friends from back in the wonderfully exciting years of puberty and teenage drama, two young adults reconnect in a new kind of way. Deeper and more complex than they could ever prepare themselves for. Keeping things casual is a lot easier said than done. He winks then takes a step closer towards the other man. "But we're gonna have to have a little... Talk. Man to man."
