My name's Ren. Lorenza Metcalfe to be exact. I'm the kind of person that doesn't talk a lot, but has no problem putting someone in their place if they look at me wrong. I'm the girl that your parents warned you about. You don't cross me and get away lightly. Some say I'm arrogant or a little bit stuck up. I say why shouldn't I like the way I am? Others think my rebel style and police record is something I should feel guilty about. What can I say? I like to live dangerously and every bad ass needs a leather jacket and red lipstick, right? Right. I'm a little vain, with a spoonful of attitude and a generous sprinkle of bad. Ok, more like a tonne. If you throw me to the wolves, I'll come out leading the pack. That's the way I've always lived. Until of course I met one. Don't get me wrong, this isn't your everyday werewolf story. I didn't just set my eyes on him and think "Oh my God this guy could be the Jacob to my Bella". Oh no. I made him work for it. This is the story of how me, a human girl, started leading a pack of wolves.

Catherine "Cat" Evans is an independent eighteen-year-old shifter with strength in her bones and fire in her blood. She has plans for her future - and none of them include being claimed by fate. In a world where pack hierarchy and destined mates rule everything, Cat refuses to be boxed in. She trains harder, fights smarter, and keeps her heart guarded. But when an alpha enters her orbit - powerful, relentless, and impossible to ignore - the life she's carefully built begins to fracture. Can you outrun destiny? Can you fight fate? Or is the fight itself exactly what fate intended? Cat isn't going down without a battle. Even if the hardest war she'll face is the one inside her own heart.
