Unlovable Strays

In a draining tank in a forgotten aquarium, sits a creature of the sea. Lyris hates humans. They were her captors, they chained her tail, clipped her claws and filed down her fangs.

So when a strange human man appears she thinks this is finally her end.

But he lets her free. He tells her he's heading to the ocean to die and would love her company.

Beckett doesn't remember. In fact, he doesn't remember much of anything. In the patchwork of what's left of earth, he grasps onto memories that might not be his, a book he barely even understands and his makeshift pack of strays.

He doesn't remember where he was when the world ended.
But he knows where he will be when his end finally catches up to him.
