There was a rumor once told about vampires. It told of an ancient civilization of a being that had the ability to change. They could shift from bat to human. I don't know if it's true. This rumor spread, more and more. It became so fantasized. That these bat beings were vampires. That they were evil and drank the blood of humans for life. There was even a rumor that these bat shaplings was even a simple infection that was so contagious that once bitten, one could die in a few hours, only to rise again, in the form of a bat. Many books were published to depict this mysterious animal. 'Twilight,' 'The City of Bones,' 'Stella Luna.' I feel like I shouldn't write a book myself about my opinion of the Bat, so I will publish the scrolls of the archives. "This is not a normal cave. No tigers or bears occupy these. No, my people live in these caves. I, Måle Bærgov, the first scribe, will keep the memories of Petraise, alive through the pages of Detren (the first scroll)"
