"So Uhm what's your peculiarly?" Prim asked, breaking the somewhat awkard silence between the two peculiars. "Bees." Hugh sighed "it's not that interesting" letting a bee out of his mouth as he spoke. The small creature landed on prim's finger making her giggle. "Well I think it's beautiful, does this little guy have a name?" "Henry"
"So what about you?" Hugh said, the little bee flying back to him "telekinesis." Prim mumbled, it was a touchy subject "woah that's so cool" "not when you can't control it" prim sighed picking some grass and twirling it around her finger, this fact wasn't something she was proud of. She had tried for so long with miss dove to work on her peculiarity but no matter how hard she tried she couldn't. She couldn't do it on will like others, it was like prims peculiarity had a mind of its own and to be completely honest, it scared her. So she just shut it out, she hadn't even shared this much with some people she had known for longer than Hugh, but for some reason she felt comfortable with him, they already had a bond somehow. after that the two children continued their small talk with no more mention of peculiarities as Hugh realised she clearly didn't want to talk about it, bees occasionally flew around them, but primrose didn't mind as suddenly, it wasn't awkard anymore.
