Un jour je me suis retrouvée dans un camp de réfugiés, en Irak. Coincée entre deux murs de parpaings, le téléphone dans une main, le carnet dans l'autre, j'étais en direct avec ma radio pour rendre compte d'un reportage à Erbil... 
Je n'aurais jamais cru, à ma sortie d'école de journalisme, que ce métier choisi avec beaucoup d'interrogations mais poursuivi par passion me surprendrai toujours.
Je ne suis pas reporter de guerre,  mais j'ai eu la chance de croiser sur ma route des personnes aussi différentes, toujours enrichissantes et souvent... déstabilisantes !

PROLOGUE My name is Alex Kahill. On July 15, 2017, I killed a person, but am not accused of murder. However, I am being hunted by those who hold me responsible for this death...and most certainly, these folks fully intend to terminate my life. At this point, I don't really have much to lose. I am no writer, so please bear with me. But know that I am totally vulnerable, so I'll try to be thorough as I tell my story. It probably would be good to start at the beginning.

I will write my future story in bilingual. I want to force myself to be the person I like. I don't care if other people like me, I just care if they like me. After days of hesitation, I finally settled on the name, and I sat on the toilet thinking about the script God had sent me... I can't wait to read the script God sends me and I can't wait to finish it. After writing it, the English audio reading was wonderful. I burst into tears as I listened, and burst into tears as I finished writing. This is very interesting. I always touch myself again and again, always write dreams in my dreams. Those of us born in the 1930s and early '40s were in great demand because our generation was very small when the post-World War II boom began. I earned generous fees working mainly freelance at home or in the offices of clients. "GLIMPSES..." is the story of all the stories my work involved: the who, what, when, where, why, and how of people I met, our society's attitudes, my networks, lessons learned, mistakes made, many good times and some very bad ones. I hope to reveal how it felt to be a Canadian worker from the 1950s until about 2000, to provide perspective on why those years were the way they were, and perhaps offer clues as to how they led us to Now.
