Bai Luoyin made a mistake. A mistake that was judged a serious crime. And for any erring faery, he is banished to the Badlands, a harsh volcanic wasteland that could easily erode any gentle faery's spirit and magic. But Bai Luoyin is made of sterner stuff, and despite the punishment, kept trudging the way back home.
Gu Hai had lived another life, a powerful pilot of a mech fighter who led the war against humanity's alien enemies. True victory required his sacrifice, his last stand necessary to ensure the safety of the human race. Whether it was fate, or the universe's reward for sacrificing his life, he wakes up in another body, far removed from the place and time he once knew.
Lucky for Gu Hai that the universe plonked him down in the middle of a faery's journey home. A beautiful creature that had to be convinced that Gu Hai is no daemon. And his only company in this strange, new world he'd found himself in.
Bai Luoyin just wanted to return to his mystic forest home but being tailed by a daemon would make him more unwelcome with his clan. Never mind the daemon's insistence that it isn't one. Or that he needed the daemon's help to finally get back home.
