As the crown princess, Gabrielle's life was never meant to be easy, yet the death of her father and an assassination attempt were far from what she expected. Now, forced to leave the only life she had ever know, she runs away with the help of Cedric, her closest friend and a dragon. However, her journey has just begun and there is much more blood and tears to be spilled.

~A NOT SO HAPPY EVER AFTER~

"And they lived happily ever after..." Gabrielle finished with a smile and set the book down. She loved happy endings, it made her feel so hopeful of her own life and how it would turn for the better.

Her friend, on the other hand, didn't seem to share her opinions.

"Do all these books have to finish the same way?" Cedric complained, leaning his head on the backrest of his armchair in exasperation. "It's starting to get old."

"Well, what would you like? The princess to remain asleep? The beast to kill the old man? The thieves to escape?" she asked him curiously. She had never found happy endings to be boring, only, well... happy.

"I mean, it would be nice for the dragon to win for once," he smirked mischievously, revealing one of his elongated fangs. His golden eyes flashed with magic for a second and a tiny tendril of smoke made its way from between his lips.

I loved a man. Blindly, foolishly, selflessly, pathetically, and sinfully. I changed for a man. From a broken girl who feared even her shadow to a detestable villainess whom everyone cowered before. To give him the world, I took it away from the other. I believed, no, rather deceived myself that I would be the one to stand beside him. However, I was wrong. Outrageously wrong. Because, to him, I was nothing more than a pawn, a disposable. "Is this the end," she whispered as her heart rate rose violently as if to explode at any time soon and her breathing became shallow gasps. 'Ah, I really am a selfish person. After everything I have done to you, I still wish to be born as your daughter again. Will you forgive me, father?' She thought as a single tear left her shimmering golden eyes, along with the last breath that she took... ... "Till the end, you never looked at me," a man muttered after seeing the woman, who had robbed him of everything that he cherished, lying lifelessly with her enthralling eyes that shut eternally. He walked to her side and slowly caressed her cold cheeks before saying, "The world has become mine, but I have lost everything, Seraphina." That night, prince Reyan Crevaria usurped the throne, killed his younger brother, emperor Reagan Crevaria, and conferred the late Grand Duke Amaris Callenso's only daughter, Seraphina Callenso as his empress. A/N: This is a rebirth story about one very fiery girl. She is sweet like sun-dried dates and soft like cotton wool to her family but, to her enemies, even the goddess herself cannot salvage them from the little she-devil.

Siderion is mere minutes away from becoming a member of the Order and earning his first rank stripe when Serkha City is attacked and his life is changed forever. Thrown away from everything he holds dear, he must scramble for answers as his moral ground shifts under his feet. In a world full of mages and monsters, nothing is safe. - - - - - - - - There were lots of other mages gathered in the plaza, addressing the arkaetres they had ridden with curt nods or short dialogue. The doors to the building were big enough for even the largest dragon to enter, but still only a small imperfection in the huge structure. I knew the door was the size of a dragon because I could see one to compare it to, flying above the dome. Then I realized that the dragon was black. "Dad? Look up there." He looked up and cocked his head in confusion. "I've never seen anything like that before." The beast was quite high in the sky and didn't look particularly threatening, but it still spooked me to see an arkaetre that wasn't white. After watching the shadowy dragon for a few more moments, my dad said slowly, "It seems like they have no rider. We should probably tell the Council about this." I nodded and followed him inside the dome. "But what about the opening ceremony?" I asked nervously, looking down at my watch. "We've got some time." - - - - - - - - Remember to comment and vote for the chapters you enjoy! Any and all feedback is appreciated. She'd spent many years playing in this forest as a child. While Selene had enjoyed her novels in the warmth of the house, a blanket wrapped around her narrow shoulders, Sidra always came home covered in mud and scrapes from hours out in the wilderness. She'd take an axe out into the forest and pretend to fight off monsters, the terrifying Mystics that her grandmother had told her stories about. She'd pretend to fight Lycans, knocking out their massive teeth one by one. She'd stand atop rocks and throw her axe at the trees, pretending they were wood nymphs come to steal her away. She'd always return home and tell Selene about the monsters she'd fought that day, spinning together a story of courage and bravery for her little sister. She felt that pain in her heart again as she thought of those times. Through the years, she'd stop going into the woods to play, and she'd instead find stories for Selene. Books of all sizes and shapes, no matter the content, because it made her feel close to her sister just as she had before her parents died. She thought of her family now, how she was all alone. Her parents had been gone for years, her grandmother, and now even Selene was missing somewhere. She needed to find her sister, she couldn't lose the last bit of her family. **
