17-year old Adam Henley is living in Carmichael, California in the spring and summer of 1999. This story tells his life during the final two months of his senior year and his summer before college, from Adam's own perspective, taking place between March and August 1999.

Adam is a quiet and reserved high school student who doesn't have many friends, but one day he becomes friends with a guy named Doug Hernfield, and becomes a part of his group of friends. Adam learns a lot of things during the time this story takes place, and he realises how precious life is and how amazing it can be.
