On a chilly evening in October of 1987, something dark is stirring in the night. A young woman named Ritsuka Shikinami awakens- only to find herself trapped in a coffin, buried alive. After digging her way into the outside world, she encounters two priests who are more than perplexed about her resurrection from the grave. The pair reveal themselves as exorcists who battle against devils, wicked creatures that feast on the blood, flesh, and souls of human beings.

But Ritsuka has her own secrets to keep, as she possesses the hidden identity of a Pureblood witch who perished over a century ago. While Ritsuka struggles to adjust to an unfamiliar world and conceal her true nature, the devils set their sights on her, and another mysterious figure emerges from the shadows, intent on making her unholy power his own.
