Jace is an average teenager, with a great family that he adores,and amazing friends that are always there for him.He couldn't ask for a better life. 
Then his family dies in a drunk driving accident,leaving him the only survivor. Now he has to go live with his parents high school friends, and their ten children.

Alianna has nine siblings.As one of the older ones she looks out for the younger kids.Though she doesn't talk to them. She doesn't talk to anyone. They think she can't actually speak at all anymore. Which leaves her alone a lot because they don't know how to deal with her.
She's getting bullied in school,and forgotten at home.
