The Walking Dead
I know I should kill him, but I can't. If it were just another walker, it would be different. But he's not just another walker. He was once my everything, the only thing that kept me going in this screwed up world. I can't kill him when he was with me through so much. His smile could brighten my day in an instant. The sound of his voice would make my heart flutter, and skip five beats. He is my everything, or well....was my everything. But now he's dead and there's nothing that I nor anyone else can do about it. I'll just let him kill me, and we can be together again....

I ran as fast as my feet would carry me. My lungs gasped for oxygen. I knew I had to stop, but he could still be following me. I pushed myself harder. I needed to get away, far away. From him. From this. I remember I just woke up one day, and went to work as usual. I drove my squad car around town on patrol, but I saw bodies. Bodies everywhere. They were dead bodies, but they weren't still on the ground. They were walking around. As if they had re-animated. I shook away the memories from the day it started all those weeks ago and focused on my running. It was almost sunrise and I figured I could stop soon. As soon as I knew I was safe. But I know now that I had fooled myself. In this new world, you can never be safe. I'm Katie Greene, and this is the apocalypse.
