When Arthur finds the clocks in the dungeons, he does not think they would change his life forever.
Suddenly he finds himself in the future, living lifetime after Lifetime with Merlin, long after his own death. And after each visit, he finds himself back in Camelot in that clockroom, where it all began.
Arthur isn't sure how it works. Maybe it was just a strange dream.
But with time he comes to love these new worlds.
And Merlin.
Until he realizes they were never dreams at all. And he truly was the once and future king.

Alternatively:
A retelling of BBC Merlin from Arthur's point of view. How he falls in love with Merlin and Gwen at the same time and how that influences his actions throughout the series.

Edit: While I hated the way this was executed the first time around, I still love the overall concept of the story. And I am afraid that I'm insane enough to try working on it again.
This work involves a lot of research and I'll just go along with the episodes as I see fit. I won't be able to make this whole thing perfectly coherent. It's just too much work. But I will do my best.

24 parts Complete

After Freya's death Merlin thinks he'll never find love again. But he couldn't be more wrong. As Arthur tries to cheer up his manservant they both discover something. Something that can't happen between them, not with Uther as king. Will their love be more powerful than the fear they feel? "We look each other in the eyes. I could drown in his blue eyes. I'm getting closer. My heart is racing. I feel warm. My eyes drops to his lips. I need to kiss him. I feel my stomach upside down. He's coming closer too. We're two inches distant. Slowly I place my lips on his. They're really soft and warm. We kiss. It's a gentle kiss. Our lips are synchronized. I grab his face with my hands, bringing him nearer. We keep kissing and when we move away a thought hits me. This can't happen. If my father finds it out, he will kill him. I don't want to hurt Merlin." Disclaimer: I don't own Merlin, it belongs to the BBC.
