“No. Oh God, no, Vance. We can’t. I can’t,” I muttered feebly.

“Yes you can. Hell, we can, Cassie. Please…stay with me tonight. Forget about anyone else. It’s just you and me tonight,” he pleaded. He wrapped his arms around me tightly, as if he’s afraid that I would disappear into the thin air at any time. He kissed my forehead. A sweet, small gesture that made my heart feel as if it was about to burst. 

His lips moved lower as he started kissing my jaw — biting my earlobe — sucking the sensitive spot just below my ear — and then he was devouring my mouth. “Stay,” he murmured against my lips.
